Medley Music Access & Inclusion provides accessible and adaptive music education resources including professional development, classroom activities, product recommendations and more. Medley's mission: We specialize in the true access and inclusion of disabled students with high support needs in school-based music classes. We welcome all learners into the essential human experience of creating and loving music with others. Presenters Jessica Corwin (music educator) and Jen Kass (board certified music therapist) are both neurodivergent/disabled educators who provide professional development to music teachers and other teachers about accommodation, meaningful inclusion, joyful music-making, and social connection, especially in the elementary general music classroom. Although based in Western Massachusetts, they are able to travel and present remotely. Medley's signature one-day workshop Intro to Adaptive Music Education covers topics including anti-ableist language, neurodivergence-affirming practices, current research on autism, learning differences and corresponding teaching strategies, and the imperative of listening to neurodivergent voices. In all of their PD sessions, participants engage in a variety of sample classroom activities that can be replicated in their own classrooms. Ithaca Children’s Garden (ICG) offers hands-on, play- and nature-based learning opportunities that support curiosity, creativity, and environmental understanding. Programs include Pop-Up Play Days — playworker-led experiences using open-ended “loose parts” that spark imagination and child-directed exploration — hosted at schools or at ICG, as well as educator-guided field trips to our 3-acre Garden where students explore plants, habitats, and the rhythms of the seasons. ICG also brings learning directly into classrooms through interactive lessons on insects, gardening, food systems, and more that complement classroom curriculum through personalized, sensory-rich experiences.

CAS Kids offers free arts-education to local children with weekly classes. Every Wednesday, children experiment with drawing, painting, and mixed media while learning new techniques and expressing their unique imaginations. Kriztix Art brings hands-on painting workshops to grades 6–12. Teaching artist Kristofer McDermott has spent more than 20 years as a painter, muralist and illustrator, and every session is built so students leave with a finished piece they're proud of. Workshops: - Halloween Emoji Monster Faces: two days with acrylic paint and paint markers, covering color mixing, value, shadow and highlight. Designed for a full grade of 130 ninth graders. - Spray Can Painting: a one-day workshop. Students start with stencil work using a single shared spray can stencil, then paint it in acrylic on an 8x10 in canvas panel, learning shape, shading, highlights and bold color. Every workshop offers stencil-assisted drawing, so beginners can skip the anxiety of drawing freehand and get a clean pencil outline. That lets them focus on learning to paint. Students who prefer to draw freehand are always welcome to. Optional materials upgrade: Kristofer can bring premium acrylic paint markers and other professional-grade supplies, giving students access to materials most classrooms don't have. Have a theme, unit or idea in mind? Kristofer also designs custom workshops around teacher proposals. Programs align with the NYS Learning Standards for the Arts (Creating, Presenting, Responding, Connecting), with a focus on color theory, design and personal expression.
