TEAM Adventure is a team of Central New York professionals from counseling, education, and public service who have joined together to provide high quality adventure programming to people of all ages. We have been providing our services for 19 years. WE OFFER A WIDE VARIETY OF PROGRAMS: Indoor/Outdoor Low Challenge Course: Join us at the New Adventure Center in Liverpool, NY. The AC is located conveniently on Wetzel Road. We have accommodations for up to 100 participants with a large indoor portable element space and a wooded outdoor low element site with plenty of parking. Team-building Events for Sports teams: Regardless of the sport, TEAM Adventure facilitators are experts at bringing out the best in your athletes. Through experiential learning we take a group of individuals and make them into a functioning, communicating, engaged team. We facilitate the building of relationships, trust and bonding. On site Workshops: TEAM Adventure facilitators will come to your site with our portable games & initiatives. We use Adventure as a tool for learning. We do community building programs, Ubuntu Leadership programs, character building workshops, Emotional Intelligence programs, etc. A customized program will be designed for your group based on the objectives and goals that you want to achieve. Adirondack Adventures: TEAM Adventure will arrange overnight accommodations at an Adirondack Great Camp for your group, including meals and a challenge course experience. We also provide guide service for wilderness camping, canoeing/kayaking, rock climbing, caving and ADK High Peak hiking. Educator Training: TEAM Adventure has worked with educators from many districts in the Central New York area in the use of Experiential Education & the Adventure Learning Model to help their students succeed both academically and socially. We will come to your building and do single or multiple day trainings, providing your teachers new tools and skills to enhance their curriculum and build community. Our workshops make a great staff development day that is energizing and useful. We can align our programs with the “common core” curriculum. Corporate Training: TEAM Adventure’s experienced trainers use adventure experiences as a tool to create organizational change. We design professional development workshops for small businesses and corporate groups focused on improving team performance, developing creative problem solving and resolving conflicts. Youth Programs: TEAM Adventure works with young people from kindergarten through college. We design programs that include engaging ground-level initiatives and cooperative games as well as low and high challenge course activities. Our experiential problem-solving activities empower students to develop creativity and insight and then apply these skills to real-life situations. Adventure in the Classroom: TEAM Adventure is a leader in bringing adventure to the classroom. We have been running in-service programs for local teachers in the Syracuse area for over 15 years. A leading motivational speaker and author, I share stories and insights that have enabled me to triumph over cerebral palsy and hearing loss, framing the program around the importance of love, family, and forgiveness in our lives. Though I was in a wheelchair for four years, and can now walk pretty well, the journey has not been easy. Though physically bullied in school and rather than respond in anger, I chose to forgive and help the bullies! A positive attitude can help us celebrate our unique gifts while kindness and respect can help those gifts be revealed. Each program culminates in a powerful documentary video to demonstrate, by example, that we should always focus on our abilities. As a former special needs kid, I describe how optimism and confidence allows us to share an important life philosophy using three simple words: Yes I Can! Which is precisely the title of my published book, helping teen readers and parents overcome self-doubt when faced with tremendous challenges. DETAILS FOR GRADE SCHOOLS: Shorter 35-minute presentation for grades K-2 (focused on disability awareness, character education, kindness and respect, and the qualities of a superhero) followed by a longer 60-minute presentation for grades 3-5 (focused on anti-bullying, leadership, and resilience). Rumbón Dance Studio, LLC is a dance studio that teaches Colombian-style salsa dance for beginner- and intermediate-level dancers. We also offer cardio classes and performance choreography in various dance styles. Partner and solo salsa dance develop personal skills such as patience, respect, self-awareness and emotional expression, physical skills such as balance and stamina, and musical skills such as rhythm and phrasing. Workshops and classes are perfect for work with students in school musicals, ice-breaker, team-building or social-emotional learning activities, after-school programming, as well as staff development and events.

We are a professional baseball team located in the Capital District of New York, more specifically, Troy. Each year we offer multiple Education Day games which are special matinee games aimed to incorporate learning with the game of baseball. We create a unique curriculum that covers things from spending money at the concession stand, geography and location of our opponents, baseball terminology and more. For these games we reach out to all of our local schools and invite them to attend this game which is typically $12 per person and includes admission as well as a lunch. We kick off the game with an Anti-Bullying peace pledge, and the concourse features tables from our sponsors with STEM centric activities. Many schools attend each of these games and look for assistance to ensure they can be a part of it.

Have you ever wondered… What does it feel like to ride the runners behind a team of dogs, steering a loaded sled through mountainous terrain, crossing the vast Alaskan tundra, hugging the shoreline of the great Bering Sea? What does it take to care for a team of Alaskan huskies? Could my dog be a sled dog, too? Musher, Karen Land, will answer these questions and more when she and Noggin, the Alaskan husky, visit (your school/library name, date, time). Dog mushing, a traditional mode of arctic transportation, is a unique subject perfect for every classroom.
